'Family: love builds peace'
This exciting event to celebrate the family took place simultaneously all over the world. The main event was transmitted live from Rome by Raiuno television and for part of the day we were linked to them and several other countries by satellite transmission.
The theme for the day was the stages of life within the family from childhood to the third age, including romance and engagement as well as problems within marriage and families.
Familyfest 2005 is organised by New Families, a branch of the Focolare Movement. Their aim is to bring unity and peace into family life by renewing the various relationships which make up the family. In this way families themselves can become builders of peace in the world.
